Interview with Mr. Hong Looi

Mr Hong Keat Looi began his Taekwon-Do training in Malaysia in 1989. He has gone on to become one of the most recognised competitors on the tournament circuit having competed so far in six ITF World Championships beginning in Argentina in 1999. Mr Looi won a silver medal in the World Championships in New Zealand in 2011 before going on to become European Champion in Slovenia in 2012. Mr Looi sat down for an interview with ITA PR Officer, Carl Smullen ahead of his grading for 5th Dan at the ITA summer blackbelt grading.

Interview with Master Kenneth Wheatley

Master Kenneth Wheatley began training in Taekwon-Do in 1979; over the course of his career he has reached the rank of 7th Degree Master, assimilated at level 3 Coach with Coaching Ireland and the Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC) and is President of the Irish Taekwon-Do Association (ITA). As well as this, Master Wheatley is the Instructor in Greystones School of Taekwon-Do and Technical Director of the ITA. Master Wheatley sat down for an interview with ITA PR Officer Carl Smullen, to give a look into his history of training and what Taekwon-Do means to him.

Interview with Mr. Stephen Ryan

Following the ITF World Championships in Benidorm in October 2013, Mr. Stephen Ryan V Dan, Secretary General of ITA and national team Coach was interviewed by thescore.ie Sports website. In the interview Mr. Ryan highlighted the successes of the National Team, the training and dedication of our athletes and the continued efforts to raise our profile and recognition with the ambition to one day be given coverage on a par with other Elite Sports.
