Organised on behalf of the Board, the recent 'Business & Technical Seminar' presented by Master Per Andresen, 8th Degree. With over 50 attendees, some travelling in from abroad. Member of the Organising Committee responsible for the 'International Umpire Course' held in University Limerick, Ireland 2012. Member of the Organising Team which host the 'Irish Cup' annually. Makes the Forde Institute of Taekwon-Do facility available to fellow black belts to do additional training and also to our international competitors for tournament preparation.

Awards & Honours:

Presented with an award from the Executive Board in appreciation for my outstanding contribution to the development of the All Ireland Taekwon-Do Association, now known as the Irish TKD Association, during the 1980's and early 90's. Making it Ireland's largest and most influential Martial Arts Organisation at that time.

Honoured with an introduction to her Excellency the President of Ireland, Mrs. Mary Robinson, in recognition of my work with the youth of County Clare.

 

Additional Information: Employed by the Local Government Authority as General Manager with responsibility for all Sports, Leisure & Recreational Facilities in the County's Capital. Director/Chair of Skills ACIST Ltd. A voluntary training network organisation with over 100 member Companies, dedicated to providing organisations with 'best in class' training solutions for the CPD of all members employees.

 

Highlights: Featured in a locally produced book promoting Sports & Leisure as a means of good health and well being. Personally requested by local children’s charity, The Clare Crusaders, to prepare & train 30 competitors for a fund raising 'Fight Night'. First ITA Instructor to design & implement a training program to meet the needs & challenges of children with Dyspraxia & Autism. Featured in the Irish secondary school syllabus for the Irish Language, an article discussing Taekwon-Do with photo. In 1994, launched an Annual Sponsored Charity Walk to raise funds for the 'Crumlin Hospital for Sick Children' in Dublin, this event continues to this day and has raised in excess of €75,000 for research.
