National Team Camp Limerick

National Team Camp Limerick

Below is some important information for the next squad camp in Limerick (March 23rd, 24th & 25th).

Please note that red belt and above are welcome to attend as are black belts that are not involved in the squad travelling to the upcoming European Championships but that would like to attend for developmental purposes and/or with future championships in mind. As there will be 4 coaches at the camp (Mr. Cooley, Mr. Jones, Mr. Byrne and Mr. Ryan and assistant coaches, Mr. Smith and Mr. King), the sessions will provide you with the opportunity to get plenty of coaching time in the main sessions as well as the chance to work one-to-one with the coaching team during consultations.

  • Accommodation
The accommodation rates have been agreed for the squad weekend in Limerick. In order to keep costs as low as possible, we have negotiated a rate of €49 per room (double/twin/triple) per night with the Travelodge hotel. If possible, we would ask people to book rooms themselves but if there is any problem with this (especially for junior competitors) please let us know and we will assist you as best as possible. If you do not know of someone to share with, also please inform us and we can try and organise that for you.

This rate is only available when booking dirtectly with the hotel on 061 603 500 or email: limerickcastletroy@travelodge.ie When making the reservation, participants have to quote "ITF Ireland National Team".

  • Training Venue
The training will take place in the University of Limerick, PESS Sports Halls on Saturday & Sunday and in Milford National School Sports Hall on Monday. A full schedule will be available shortly.

  • Food Provisions
We will be using the arena bar in UL for all meals. They have agreed to offer set price menu options for the duration of the camp.

  • Cost of the camp
The camp will cost €20 for seniors and €30 for juniors.

  • Schedule of Payments
As per a recent email, the next installment of the costs for Sweden is also payable at the camp. This amount is €300. In a separate email, I will be sending bank details where you will be able to transfer money in advance of the camp if that suits better. If there are any issues with any of these payments, please inform us directly.

  • Entertainment on Saturday
We would like to get some feedback on the idea of organising something for the Saturday evening.  This will obviously incur and extra cost so we would like to get some feedback before we go ahead with this. Please reply to this email if you have any comments or suggestions. Some ideas below (please note costs are estimates):
€10 for cinema or bowling
€25 for air soft
€30 for karting

Kind regards
Coaches & Management
