Tomaz Barada Seminar Report

Tomaz Barada Seminar Report

Tomaž Barada visited Ireland to conduct training seminars during the weekend of 4th -5th December 2010. The seminar was in doubt of happening due to the unprecedented weather that Ireland is not accustomed to with 30cm of snow and ice with treacherous road conditions with the main airports cancelling many flights. The first engagement for him was to be interviewed on Friday 3rd December for publication by the A.E.T.F., the in-depth interview lasted 2 hours and will be published in the near future. Despite the weather conditions over 100 people took the opportunity to train with “the machine” over the following two days. On Saturday the 4th December there were seminars held in Cork, hosted by Mr. Mark Buckley 6th Dan and Mr. Pat Barry 6th Dan. Cork is a Taekwon-Do fanatic City with 28 Taekwon-Do clubs in a City with a population of 150,000 people. Mr. Barada conducted classes for juniors and seniors and introduced some of his sparring tactics, techniques and preparation. The following day he conducted seminars in Dublin hosted by Mr. Stephen Cooley 6th Dan and Mr. Terry Donnelly 6th Dan. Again, despite dangerous road conditions there were a good number of people that braved the elements to take the chance to train with one of the great ambassadors of our sport. There were some key people from Irish Taekwon-Do such as one of the pioneers of Irish Taekwon-Do, Mr. Aidan Walsh 6th Dan (who commenced training in 1966 and was the first President of ITA in 1984), National Coach Mr. Stephen Cooley 6th Dan and Former Irish International competitor Mr. Terry Donnelly 6th Dan. During three hours of training there was a high level of energy and many good fight combinations and techniques to enjoy and remember. The event was attended by ITA and INTA members and also friends from other Taekwon-Do groups. Stay tuned for the upcoming publication of the interview with Tomaž Barada! Photos
