Munster Open 2024 1,150 competitors

Congratulations to all who participated in the Munster Open 2024 last weekend. It was a huge success with 1,150 competitors over the two days with divisions for black belts, colour belts aged 14-17, 18 and above, veterans and inclusion divisions on the Saturday across 9 rings, age 10 and under on Sunday morning and aged 11-13 colour belts on Sunday afternoon across 10 rings. The level of performance on the floor over the two days was very impressive to see. Thank you to all umpires and volunteers who make these events run smoothly, thank you to our tournament and umpire committee for their professionalism in organising this event and many thanks to all clubs, instructors, coaches, masters and family members who supported.

Congratulations to the top three clubs in the rankings:

Quin TKD Team under instructor Master Stephen Ryan in 3rd place with 21 gold, 9 silver and 21 bronze and 102 points

East Cork TKD under Mr Richie Forde in 2nd place with 16 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze and 119 points

Rivervalley/Ashbourne under Master Stephen Cooley in 1st place with 23 gold, 21 silver and 39 bronze and 150 points.

Well done to all participating clubs, the standard is raising all the time which is great to see.

We now set our sights on the Dublin Open taking place on March 23rd and 24th in the National Indoor Arena. The invitation will be published in the coming days
