Blackbelt Gradings
The ITA runs two national blackbelt gradings per year. These gradings are conducted by a panel of masters and international instructors selected from within the ITA examiner panel. Before taking the Blackbelt grading, candidates must complete a preliminary test to assess their readiness to test at national level. The ITA Blackbelt grading tests candidates on fundamental hand techniques, kicking techniques, patterns, pre-arranged sparring, free sparring, self defence, special-technique, power-breaking and theory. If successful on the day of the grading, candidates are presented with an ITA national blackbelt certificate and are later issued with an official degree certificate, degree-card and degree number from the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
