€23,000 Women in Sport Funding

The ITA & the Irish Martial Arts Commission welcome the allocation of €23,000 in Women in Sport funding to IMAC from Sport Ireland for 2021 & 2022. The funding was awarded based on four projects developed by the IMAC executive committee:

Research phase: inviting members to share suggestions, experiences, comments or observations

Implementing pathways to advancement towards coaching, officiating & governance roles for women

Engage more women in Martial Arts & reduce the dropout of current female members

Increase the visibility of female role models to younger members.

We look forward to rolling these projects out over the next 24 months to increase participation & visibility of women at all levels within martial arts practice, officiating and governance
