AUTISM IN SPORT ONLINE WORKSHOP
The Online Autism in Sport workshop will provide participants with an understanding of autism focusing on the delivery of sport and martial arts activities. The course content is designed to help participants to recognise and understand key areas of consideration and to look at practical strategies which will help to include people with autism in sport.
Who is this workshop for?
Sports leaders, coaches, instructors, volunteers, teachers, principals, special needs assistants (SNAs), parents or anyone who has an interest in making their martial art and sport accessible and inclusive for people with Autism.
Topics covered include:
Autism and The Autism Spectrum, Communication, Environments, Understanding Behaviours, The TREE Model and The Autism Passport.
The Autism in Sport Online workshop is delivered by CARA, a national pan-disability sport organisation providing a collaborative and partnership platform to increase sport and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities across Ireland.
Cara coordinates, develops and delivers inclusive training and education workshops across the Sport, Fitness, Adventure and Education sectors. All their workshops are designed to equip participants with the knowledge, competence and skills necessary to include people with disabilities in sport and physical activity, and increase quality provision.
Cara’s Tutor Team currently comes from many different disabilities, sporting and physical activity professions and organisations.

Time: 6.30pm - 9pm.
Location: Online Via Zoom.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion.
